Embarking on a trip can be an enormous adventure. Unfortunately, you can't control the weather and rain can put a damper on your fun. Here are some tips to keep the rain from washing away your good time.
1. Bring a Rain Jacket
It may cover up your outfit but it will keep you warm and dry when out in the rain. Rain wear often folds to be very small and can be stored easily in a suitcase or carry-on.
2. Bring an Umbrella
To keep the water off your head. Umbrellas are vital to protect you ad your belongings from being soaked. Also, small umbrellas are common now-a-days and can easily fit in your luggage.
3. Wear Waterproof Makeup
Cream or liquid products on your face topped with a powder product. Pencil eyeliner and waterproof mascara should last through a little water. However, avoid wearing heavy makeup that could drip down your face.
4. Multiple Pairs of Shoes
Assuming you are going to be walking a lot, bring several pairs of walking shoes. That way if one pair gets wet you can wear the dry pair the next day.
5. Consider Bringing Rain Boots
Rain boots are uncomfortable, bulky, and heavy so they may not be ideal for every trip. However, if you have extra space in your suitcase and do not plan on walking too much, consider bringing them to battle the elements.
Take it from me, someone who survived a rainy trip to Costa Rica and a drenched graduation, rain preparation is always helpful. However, rain doesn't have to put a damper on your fun.
