I feel like everyone has that one thing that they love, and that they always want more of. For some, it may be video games, hats, sports jerseys, or watches, but for me, it is definitely shoes.

I have always had a love for shoes, I feel like they add so much to your outfit. I believe they are truly worth your money and will be a good investment. I totally get that most people cannot have a plethora of shoes in their closet. That is why I have come up with a list of the five shoes that every guy should have in his closet. Whether you decide to go the luxury route or the high street route, these five types of shoes are essential.

1. Let's start with drivers/moccasins

This type of shoe is super versatile, and they are great because they make you look classy and fashionable. They are definitely not as “fun” as sneakers, but they truly create a very sophisticated vibe. The shoes pictured below are the Louis Vuitton “Monte Carlo” Moccasins.

2. Next, let's talk about Sneakers

Sneakers are a must-have for so many reasons. They are comfortable, they work with so many outfits, and they’re definitely on the cheaper end of the luxury shoe spectrum. There are so many sneakers you can choose from, whether they are luxury or non-luxury. The sneakers I am wearing in the picture below are the Gucci “Ace” Sneakers. I would highly recommend these sneakers, they are comfortable, stylish, & add a lot to your outfit. A great inexpensive alternative to luxury sneakers are Cole Haan sneakers.

3. Now, let's move to boots

Many people would argue that boots are a seasonal shoe, but I strongly disagree. A good Chelsea Boot can last you a very long time, and I believe they can work year round. The boots I am wearing are from Nordstrom, and I absolutely love them. You have the option to choose between suede and leather. I have both types, and leather Chelsea Boots will definitely last you longer. Suede Boots look amazing but can come across a bit seasonal. You can never go wrong with a black or brown leather boot.

4. Lets talk about athletic shoes next

Athletic shoes are great for sports, working out, and ath-leisure. They are definitely the most comfortable on this list. I love the look of nice athletic shoes with a simple outfit. It is a go-to for me when running errands, going to school, and obviously working out. My favorite kind of athletic shoes are definitely the Adidas NMD. This style of shoe looks good with shorts, jeans, athletic pants, and anything else. They come in a variety of colors, and styles. I would 10/10 Recommend these to anyone!

5. Oxfords, and Dress Shoes

Lastly, I am going to cheat and talk about two types of shoes. The dress shoe is a staple in a man’s closest. Whether you are going to a job interview, wedding, or a night out, you can never go wrong with a dress shoe. I am a fan of the classic, shiny, black, lace-up dress shoe, but I love a tan dress shoe as well. If you’re deciding between the two, you have to ask yourself if you wear more black, and charcoal grey, versus more blue, and lighter grey. But let's say you want the look of a dress shoe, but not as formal? Your best bet would definitely be the Oxford. Oxfords are classy, yet youthful. They add a lot of personality to whatever you’re wearing.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
