Throughout the world, there are a myriad of beautiful creatures, each with their own interesting habitats and niches. However, with climate changes, pollution, and other contributing factors, the number of endangered species is augmenting at a rate we can hardly keep up with. While few of us are actually environmentalists making a difference in the lives of these creatures, I'm hoping that the rest of you (myself included) will think twice about littering, emitting excess amounts of gas, and a multitude of other impacts we have on the environment after seeing these adorable pictures.

1. Amur Leopard

The Amur Leopard is a subspecies of leopards typically found in southeastern Russia and northeastern China, with only 35 remaining in the world.

2. Crossriver Gorilla

Native to tropical forests in western and central Africa, there are only about 300 left before this species goes extinct.

3. Galapagos Penguin

The Galapagos Penguin is endemic to the Galapagos Islands and is the only wild penguin to live north of the equator. Unfortunately, there are only under a thousand left in the world.

4. Hector Dolphin

The Hector Dolphin is the only endemic cetacean to New Zealand. However, their populace is limited to a mere 55.

5. Hawksbill Turtle

The beautiful Hawksbill Turtle is native to tropical reefs in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Their narrow head and jaws shaped like a beak allow them to eat from crevices in coral reefs, namely sponges, anemones, squid and shrimp. There are approximately 20,000 females left to mate landing them on the "National Geographic" endangered list.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
