The show that has brought men to their knees and women to their third box of tissues is "Grey's Anatomy." Many people go through a wide variety of emotions when watching this show, and whether you are fretting over McDreamy and Meredith or if Yang will catch the aortic dissection in time, you will feel all five emotional stages.
1. Anxiety
Many of us regularly feel overwhelmingly anxious when watching this show. Whether it be because Arizona and Callie have broken up again or because Lexie still hasn't told Mark how she feels, you will get little butterflies in your stomach no matter what. It is an emotional stage that occurs through an episode, and sometimes it can happen more than once an episode. Season 1 Episode 1 when George asked for a "10 blade," we all know that our hearts' jumped into our throats.
2. Happy Tears
Happy tears are a regular occurrence in "Grey's." Sometimes you just cannot help but weep with happiness, like when Mark finally told Lexie that he loves her or when April finally realized her feelings for Avery. It is inevitable, and we all must take in stride.
3. Hysterical Crying
We all know what I am talking about, and if you have not seen the series, then stop reading. George, Mark, Lexie, and Derek all required at least 2 boxes of tissues. We have all been there, so do not be ashamed. Pretty sure there is a Shonda hate club somewhere all because we are stuck in this emotional stage.
4. Hardcore Anger
Anger is another one of those stages that occurs every episode. Whether it is because Callie is whining about something or because April and Avery are not living happily ever after, we feel that anger. We just want to shake them and scream at them because they just are not doing what we want them to. It is an irrational stage, but one that is inevitable when watching "Grey's."
5. Sheer Happiness
Happiness is inevitable in a show like this. When Alex and Jo finally figured out that they love each other, when Meredith became content with her new life, or when Bailey got chief, we felt that pure, overwhelming sense of happiness. A type of happiness where a smile could not be contained. A type of happiness that makes us want to keep watching the show no matter how much the writers piss us off.
