Growing up in a generation where one thinks “hanging out” is a date, I thought creating an article with cute date ideas would be helpful. Don’t get me wrong, I love staying in with my boyfriend, but I also love going on adventures with him. So take your someone special to one of these fun places! No need to thank me in advance...unless it's with caffeine and/or food, then you can thank me now.
1. Go and explore downtown Jacksonville
With downtown being so close, it’s a great place to go and find the hole-in-the-walls. These include bookstores you can get lost in and restaurants you will be craving to go back to as soon as you leave.
***Bonus points if you go with a group and have a competition as to which couple can find the coolest location — y’all are the judges so get creative!
2. Go to St. Augustine for the day
St. Augustine is obviously further away than downtown, but the town will make up for the distance. It is full of great shops and tasty treats for you to try. Also, who doesn’t enjoy walking by the river? It's super romantic when the sun is setting (aka great opportunity for a selfie!)
***Bonus points if you go on the ghost tour and later on scare your date enough for them to start laughing...wait, is that just my kind of sense of humor? Whoops.
3. Go to the bowling alley
This is a great date idea because then you can have a bet on who gets the best score. You can decide on what the loser has to do, I suggest they have to buy dinner but that’s just my stomach talking.
***Bonus points if neither one of you get a gutter ball.
4. Go on a coin date
By this I mean you both get into a car and the passenger has a coin, the driver will turn left on head and right on tails. Go to the place that is closest to the location you two ended up...within reason anyway.
***Bonus points if it ends up being an awesome place or an awful one that you two will laugh over within the days to come.
5. Go on an old fashioned date
It's sad that they are now called old fashioned because these are some of the best dates. When I say old fashioned, I mean picking your date up at the door with flowers or some cheesy present of some kind and go out to dinner then a movie. Yes, these are so 2008, but it's never too late to give it a try!
***Bonus points if this becomes a once in a month date!
Go on and take a chance with these dates! The worst that will happen is that the date ends up being a disaster that you two can laugh over, and if you can't laugh about that, then you have more issues than figuring out what to do for a date...
