1. Mattress Pad
These college provided beds are uncomfortable, to say the least. If I didn’t bring a mattress pad with me to school, I probably would’ve woken up every day with a broken back and cuts from the bedsprings in my back.
2. Printer
Yes, this might be pricy, but for me it was a necessity. The lines for the communal printers can get long, especially at the most inconvenient times. Having your own printer to fall back on (and print in color with) is a lot less stressful than having to run across campus just to print one piece of paper.
3. Storage Unit
If you’re anything like me and have way too many articles of clothing, then the extra storage container is a necessity. A chest of shallow drawers and a little closet just don’t do it sometimes. Even if you end up keeping nothing but junk in the extra drawers you bring, I can guarantee you’ll find a use for them.
4. Pictures
Having some tangible memories from home is so important, especially when you’re feeling a little homesick. Plus picture collages, or hanging photos from clothespins and string, makes for a really cute wall decoration.
5. Large Hamper
Okay so again, if you’re anything like me you probably hate doing laundry, and will put it off until you only have your fanciest outfits and a pair of pajamas left to wear. Having a large hamper to keep all of those dirty clothes controlled definitely saved me from an extremely messy dorm room.
