If you're like me at all, you enjoy some casual music in the background while you study. Some are into this, some can't stand to have it. While many choose to listen to classical music, others choose chillstep.
If you're unfamiliar with chillstep, it is a subclass of the dubstep genre that features calm, relaxing melodies and simple beats that ease you into a mellow mindset. It makes for fantastic summer music, great meditation music, and excellent studying music. Often, songs will feature classical instruments in the background, only with a more ethereal tone to it.
Alas, here are some songs that I've heard lately that have really put me into the mood of studying.
1. "Sea of Voices" - Porter Robinson
Want to feel like you're floating in an ocean while you crunch numbers for that Calculus exam? Here you go.
2. "Comfort Zone" - General Fuzz
Need some soothing piano and violin, spun up in an electric fashion that sounds like Beethoven and Mt. Eden had a baby? This song will give you a little energy boost to accelerate your studying pace.
3. "After 4 AM" - Long Arm
Like a little bit of a jazzy, old time feel? This chopped up mix of some of the relaxation throughout the ages will give you a warm feeling, like you're sitting in a jazz lounge.
4. "The Queen of All Everything" - Ott
Do babbling brooks, chirping birds, and other nature sounds mixed with a slow melody entice you? Feel the need to be outside, even when it's winter out? This song is for you.
5. "Prisma" - CFCF
How does a soothing melody accompanied by a simple drum and bass beat sound to you? Yeah, it sounds great to me too. Enjoy it.
Good luck with studying during exam season. Smooth sailing folks.
