5 Celeb Fashion Role Models For Short Girls

Standing at just over five feet for the majority of my teenage/adult life, I’m no stranger to the struggle of tripping over maxi dresses in the fitting room or having every pair of jeans bunch up around my ankles. Sometimes figuring out how to style yourself as a short girl can pose a challenge when all the models in magazine spreads are a lanky 5’10’’. So to solve my fashion woes I’ve recently taken to looking up short celebs whose outfits I admire and taking cues from their awesome street styles. Here are a few of the stars that have totally mastered how to make a big statement on a small frame.

1. Lucy Hale

Height: 5’ 2’’

Style: Casual and Bohemian

As the most petite of the"Pretty Little Liars," the lovely Lucy Hale is a master of using funky accessories and playing with proportions to achieve an effortless, boho look. To prevent looking like a kid playing dress-up in her mother’s closet, Hale combines flowing pieces like long sweaters and shirt dresses with more fitted jackets and skinny jeans while keeping her bags and headwear to neutral, earthy colors.

2. Kristen Bell

Height: 5’1’’

Style: Girly and Romantic

Looking for the perfect date-night outfit? Play up your sweet stature by channeling Kristen Bell’s soft, romantic style. Look for dresses with pretty details like lace and ruffled collars to pair with simple cardigans and solid tights that won’t overwhelm your frame. Bell’s fashion sense strikes the perfect balance of eye-catching and refined by combining high necklines or long sleeves with bare legs and cinched waistlines to keep her outfits from looking dowdy.

3. Jenna Coleman

Height: 5’ 1’’

Style: Quirky and Vintage

Adorable British beauty Jenna Coleman displays a unique signature style with a wardrobe full of patterned dresses and sleek kitten heels. To achieve Jenna’s cute put-together fashion sense look for modern cut pieces with vintage details like Peter-Pan-collar dresses and A-line skirts. Keep your bright patterned pieces the center of attention by incorporating black pieces and basic shoes that won’t clash or shorten your leg line.

4. Rachel Bilson

Height: 5’ 0’’

Style: Classic and Structured

Rachel Bilson has been an icon for chic street style ever since she first appeared as the gorgeous Summer Roberts on "The O.C. Ten years later, Bilson is still an expert at putting together classic looks that are tailored perfectly to her build. To achieve her seemingly effortless fashion sense look for high-quality, structured basics like dark skinny jeans and military jackets that can instantly add an aura of polish to any outfit.

5. Emilia Clarke

Height: 5’ 2’’

Style: Classy and Sophisticated

Who ever said short chicks can’t wear maxi dresses? "Game of Thrones" superstar Emilia Clarke definitely defies that “rule” in her red carpet appearances by rocking a ton of sleek, slinky gowns. In order to look as glam and put-together as the Mother of Dragons, keep your long dresses formfitting rather than ball gown cut and stick to a single color in order to keep the focus on your gorgeous body.

So the next time you’re feeling like you just don’t measure up to all the runway models and mannequins, grab some inspiration from the tons of diverse celebrity styles out there for short girls and stand tall and confident with or without heels!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
