Realistically, you may not have the time to read all the books in this list. But these are some of the books that are just rejuvenating. They might help you believe in love again or they might keep you entertained while you tan. Either way, I'm sure that one way or another you will find one book in this list that you will enjoy reading even if you are not a book worm.
1. "One Hundred Years of Solitude"
By: Gabriel Garcia Marques
This novel is about the multi-generational story of the Buendia family located in the insides of Macondo, in the metaphoric Colombia. Some may consider it a love story and others a tragedy.
2. "The Beginning of Everything"
By: Robyn Schneider
This novel will appeal to fans of John Green, Ned Vizzini, and books like Catcher in the Rye and Perks of Being a Walflower. It is the story about a popular high school kid that gets injured and the rest is for you to read.
3. "A Thousand Splendid Suns"
By: Khaled Hosseini
This is the book that follows "The Kite Runner." It is a really sad book but it is worth reading.
4. "The Happiness Project"
By: Gretchen Rubin
I know this book has already been out for a while, but after having it for two years I read it for a second time and it felt even better than when I read it the first time.
5. "Confessions"
This story is set in the Lebane Civil War and the first confession starts with: "My father used to kidnap and kill people..." I promise you will not stop reading until you finish the book.
I implore you to just pick up one of these books this summer. This is the only time of the year that you really have time for yourself. Why not splurge on a good book?
