5 Of The Biggest Lies Today's Christian Women Tell Themselves

We all have negative feelings and thoughts somedays, but those are the days we turn to God.

No one is perfect, no Christian is perfect and we all fall sometimes. We judge others and lean on our own understanding despite God's word for us. Just know, you are never alone, these are thoughts we all have, but that does not justify it.

Pray for your mind, we should protect our mind heart and soul from this world.

1. I am better than _______ because _______

It is so common for us to compare ourselves and hold ourselves higher. It is easy to think "I am a better Christian than this person because they go out and party and misbehave and I don't." No one is perfect in our walk with Christ. We all slip. We ALL fall. However, it is our job and to lift these people up in prayer. Philippians 2:3 says "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." We are not better than others, we cannot be selfish, we should humble ourselves, for we sin just as much as others. All sin is different, but it is still equal.

2. God is mad at me and dislikes me

When it seems like nothing is going right, or life is going extremely downhill, it seems like God has a distaste for us. However, this is farthest from the truth. One of the most powerful processions of God's love is from 1John 4:7-12 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.Anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us." GOD IS LOVE. God is an icon of love. Our Father is with you, and will not put you through anything he knows you cannot handle.

3. I can do _______ God will forgive me anyway

This is such a common mindset that is not particularly the best one to have. Although it is true that we all sin, and we all will sin, that does not mean we should just continue in our ways because we know of God's grace. Romans 6:11 explains "So you also consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus." Sin makes us dead. Sin tears us apart from God. We cannot intentionally sin and have a close relationship with Christ. We are called to be like Jesus, to forgive others, and repent of our wrongdoings, and prevent them from happening again.

4. I (and only I) did _______

Wrong. Everything we do and accomplish is in God's hands. We should never take responsibility for what we could not have done without God's work in our lives. To remember this partnership, turn to John 15:4-5 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine; neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." God is our vine and we are the branches. He is the backbone of what we do, and how we do it.

5. I don't have a purpose

It is so common that we go through sad or even depressing times in our life. In those moments we ponder if we really have a purpose here on earth. But we totally do! Exodus 9:16 "But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth." We are here to show the world the love of Jesus Christ. We are here to love one another, lift one another up, and honor our God using our gifts, talents, and services.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
