In life, we are faced with many struggles. Some struggles we feel as if we are alone and that no one can help you get back to where we were before. I'm here to remind you that you are never alone regardless of the situation. You are always able to turn to the Lord and ask for His help and guidance.

1. "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Jesus is telling us that He knows that we will have sufferings here on earth. He also takes the time to remind us that, in Him, we will have peace. He understands that we will have our own personal struggles and He tells us to confide in Him and look to Him for help. "But take heart" is another way to say "stay strong in your times of troubles." Jesus has overcome the world, He has defeated it, and He will come again.

2. "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." Isaiah 40:29

God supplies us with the spiritual strength that we need when we are at our weakest points. When we finally realize that our strength alone is not enough, God is waiting for us with open arms. He is willing to give us all of the strength that we need if we recognize our weakness and look to Him for support.

3. "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise." Jeremiah 17:14

Before healing can happen, we need to accept that we are wounded. If we do not offer up our pain and suffering to God for healing, He will not help us with our problems. When Jeremiah states "for you are my praise" he is accepting that God is his only comfort and relief. God is our only real source of relief to the pain we are feeling.

4. "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." Psalm 37:23-24

God wants nothing more than for us to get to know Him. When we take the time to get to know Him and read and listen to His word, He rewards us. Like Hebrews 11:6 states, "He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." Because God knows what is best for us, those who seek Him are guided directly into the path that He wants us in. Even though we can make some mistakes throughout our lives, we know that we can always ask God for His forgiveness. He will help us stand back up and keep moving forward.

5. "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.'" Jeremiah 29:11

No matter what we think our future holds, remember that it is all unknown. We may think that things are going to go one way and it doesn't go that way at all! If you listen to what God is telling you to do, He will lead you to a future of happiness and hope. You will also not be alone in that future because you will also have Him.

It's extremely easy to lose yourself and lose sight of God when things aren't going the way you planned. From personal experience, the feeling is more than familiar, it's like a friend. I was lost for quite some time and finding my way back to God has been the best decision I have ever made. The road back is hard and I'm still on that road and I am doing my best to stay on it. Your weakest points are the best opportunities to get to know God. When you feel lost, alone, worried, scared... He is waiting for you to come to Him for advice. He is your Father, after all. Never lose hope and never feel alone because He is always with you... Even when you don't want Him there.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
