1. The Fix

This is one of my go-to restaurants every time my boyfriend comes up to visit me. Eating burgers here is one of our favorite activities; they melt in your mouth and are cooked to perfection. You can make your own burger with a large list of possible toppings and the service there has always been excellent. The Fix has a very casual atmosphere, which is good for any lunch or dinner date.

2. Peppercorn's Grille & Tavern

This is a great place for a nicer dinner date. It is more on the expensive side, averaging about 19/20 dollars per entree, but the portions are huge. You will always have something to bring home for leftovers for the next day. Also, in my opinion, their "chocolate decadence" dessert is amazing (shoutout to all of my fellow chocolate lovers!). The atmosphere is more intimate and could be either casual or fancy depending on your mood.

3. Volturno Pizza

This is the perfect place if you are down for some really good pizza. They have a really good selection, but nothing tops the pizza options. The ambiance is very modern and cozy and, overall, is pretty reasonably priced. This is a good lunch or dinner place and is more casual.

4. The Flying Rhino

This place has a really friendly and fun atmosphere. The burgers are cooked very well here and the other options look really good as well. This restaurant is perfect for a casual lunch date. Also, if you are cutting it close on time, this place is good for a quick bite as the service is usually very quick.

5. Wendy's by College of the Holy Cross

If you and your date cannot find a restaurant that doesn't have a 45 minute wait, there's nothing better than a super quick and casual evening in Wendy's (which I think is the best fast food place in general). Also, the one by Holy Cross is actually very large and has a nice atmosphere to it, not to mention that it is so close to campus you and your date could walk to it as well!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
