Arizona summers are known for being hot, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be trapped inside for the whole day. As long as you bring copious amounts of water with you and don’t mind braving the heat, there’s still a lot of fun stuff that you can do. But, whatever you do, don’t forget your sunscreen, because sunburns seriously suck.
Go for a swim
This is probably the absolute best way to beat the heat. Floating around in the pool is the best way to spend the day. Whether you’re just lounging about and reading or having a bunch of friends over, there’s really no way to go wrong with a pool day.
Take a hike
If you’re more inclined to spend the day soaking up the sun on the side of a mountain, then hiking in Arizona is definitely for you. With the picturesque views and the variety of trails, there’s really something for everyone.

Go to the movies
Some people, like myself, are typically happier to avoid the heat altogether. So I end up spending a lot of time (and money) at the movie theater. Which is great because then you can stay up to date with all of the movies that come out over the summer and the movie theater is always nicely air conditioned.
Stay-cation
Sometimes it’s nice to stay close to home, but not actually be at home. That’s the beauty of a stay-cation. You can explore different parts of the area that you live in and have all of the comforts of being at a hotel. Plus, hotels usually have nice pools, so you could just stay at the hotel and spend the day in the pool if you really wanted to.
All in all, even though the sun is beating down on the Arizona desert, there is still a ton of fun to be had. A long day in the water or a nice hike are great ways to clear your mind and spend some time experiencing all of the natural beauty that Arizona has to offer.
