What is Pancake Art?

Pancake art is a recent trend where people create drawings and characters out of pancake batter on their griddles! Some people, like YouTuber Randombreakfasts, use the natural pancake batter color in varying dark or light tones to create incredible images like this leopard!

Randombreakfasts "paints" the batter directly onto a hot griddle, working fast to fill in the necessary parts! On the other hand, YouTuber TigerTomato colors his pancake batter in order to create the spitting image of popular characters, like Pusheen the cat!

TigerTomato is also responsible for the famous Elsa pancake art, where he draws the intricate details of her eyes and brows with what seems to be a piece of straw!

There are many other YouTubers who create pancake art who aren't quite as famous. Here, Jaunty Jane creates a beautiful image of roses on her frying pan:

While you can leave the fancy pancake portraits to the professionals, it's very possible to create your own designs at home! As long as you have a pan, your favorite pancake recipe, a squeeze bottle, and a spatula, you're good to go! You could even have a fun competition like this couple here:
