Netflix is the best place to watch all of your favorite movies and shows, and every now and then you stumble across some random series you've never heard of. Some of these findings can change your life....or your entire summer. If you wanna spend the rest of June and July in your comfy bed with Netflix, I've shared 5 under the radar shows that are unbelievably hard to take your eyes off of, even if it's 2 am and you're passing out.
1. 'The Killing'
My best friend in high school was watching this show one night and it was so intriguing I fell in love with it in the middle of an episode I didn't understand. 'The Killing' is about two detectives trying to solve a murder and every episode is a day. So if you watch 12 episodes, it's only been 12 days in the show which is actually a really interesting concept. They got renewed for 4 seasons, and it is quite possibly the best show I've ever watched in my life. Seriously, it still gives me goosebumps when I go back and re watch it. It's more than just a crime show, the emotional connections you feel with some of these characters, and the twists and turns of this thriller of a show, will stay with you for life. If you haven't seen it, you need to cancel your plans this weekend.
2. 'Skins'
This show might stand out to you a little more because MTV did a remake of this British show, and apparently it was horrible. I've only watched the original, Volumes 1-4 and Volume 7. You see, every two seasons, this show changes the cast with which they are working with. Skins is about high school groups and everything they are dealing with, so once they graduate, the show focuses on a new set of students. The first 4 seasons were unbelievable and you fall in love with all of the characters. Volume 7 brings some of your favorite character's back, and does a short version of how they ended up. I heard Volume's 5 and 6 were not their best seasons, and I didn't want to ruin my love for Skins so I skipped them. Overall, this show will keep you occupied for quite some time, and it shouldn't be missed.
3. 'The Returned'
Don't watch this show unless your okay with dying at the end because they didn't renew it for another season. I spent about an hour trying to find some way to figure out what happened next. It's a remake in english, but it's such a fascinating concept, it's hard to not be intrigued. 'The Returned' is about the dead returning, at the exact age they were when they died, and completely unaware of what happened to them. This as you can imagine, leads to all sorts of confusion and creates a pretty cool plot with the rest of the town and the deceased one's families.
4. 'Black Mirror'
This show will blow your mind. I've heard people compare it to the 'Twilight Zone.' Each episode is it's own story, and completely different from one to the next. The one thing they have in common is that they all appear to be set in the future, and every episode showcases fascinating technology. Some of the episodes are better than the others, and you don't need a background you can just turn it on, pick any episode, and enjoy it for an hour. You won't be stuck trying to find out what happens next. You will however want to watch every single episode, and my personal favorite is 'White Christmas.'
5. 'The Fall'
This show is really good if you're interested in dark murder thrillers. It takes a murderer who kills girls and rapes them for enjoyment, and makes him your favorite character. You actually don't want him to get caught. I know, crazy. Anyways, the main actor is Jamie Dorman, yes from 50 Shades of Grey. Yes, he's irresistible. Yes, you will love this show. Go watch it.
