Do you ever take the time to step back and think, "Wow, I have some amazing things in my life"? I've been so blessed to know so many wonderful people, and I can't even begin to list all of them. I see wildlife almost every day of my life, and yet, I never take moments to thank God for it. I fill my day with so many different activities, but am I forgetting to enjoy them? It may not be Thanksgiving yet, but you don't need a holiday to appreciate what you've got. Take some time today and just be thankful for what you have right now.

5. Photography

6. Warm showers

7. My favorite meal

8. Running water

9. Electricity/electronics

11. Chocolate

18. My thoughtful and fun fiancé

19. Disney trips

20. Any vacation, really

21. The mountains

22. And the ocean

23. Love

24. My cats

Take some time to think of at least 10 different things you're thankful for. I don't care how generic they are, like "food" or "my best friend." If it's from the heart, then it's something to be thankful for! Appreciate what you have today because you might not have it tomorrow.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
