So if you are like me, you grew up in South Florida, also known as SoFlo or the 9-5-4. South Florida, in my opinion, has given me plethora of opportunities to grow as a person. We all know that this is the place that everyone vacations so I guess you can say we live in paradise, am I right?

Here are some other things you know if you grew up in South Florida.

1. The beaches are fantastic. No matter where you are...the beaches in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Delray, and Pompano are considerably the best on the East Coast.

2. La Spada's Subs/Hoagies...need I say anymore?

3. The rivalry between Saint Thomas Aquinas and every other school in Florida is the real deal. GO RAIDERS!

4. If you lived in Plantation, Davie, or Cooper City, your parents probably signed you up for recreational soccer.

5. You've probably had a field trip and an air boat ride to the Everglades to see the alligators.

6. You have probably spent your weekend and your money at Las Olas Boulevard.

7. You have dreaded going to Sawgrass Mills Mall due to the fact that there is no parking. So you settled and went to the Westfield Broward Mall instead.

8. You have probably gone to summer camp at the Museum of Discovery of Science.

9. You have seen at least one musical at the Broward of Performing Arts in your lifetime.

10. You will always call Broward College, Broward Community College...no matter what.

11. Publix is your place to say "Where shopping is a pleasure". You have also seen many of your classmates during high school who have worked there.

12. You have been to the Stranahan House.

13. You went to Butterfly World for a class field trip.

14. You have probably been on the Jungle Queen Cruise because your family wanted to do something different.

15. You have seen all the flamingos at Flamingo Gardens too many times.

16. You have probably climbed trees at Taylor Birch State Park.

17. You have visited the Bonnett House and Gardens for a relaxing afternoon.

18. You have been amazed at the Museum of Art.

19. The Swap Shop was a must early in the morning for some good deals.

20. You may have been impressed by the Fort Lauderdale Antique Car Museum.

21. You've felt fancy shopping at the Galleria Mall.

22. You've felt starstruck at the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

23. You have been on a cruise via Port Everglades.

24. You think Miami is a struggle to go to.

25. You've seen a game at Lockhart Stadium.

26. You know eating at Southport Raw Bar is a delicacy.

27. You know where the house from There's Something About Mary is located.

28. "The Elbo Room" is a piece of history.

29. You pride yourself on knowing alternate routes around the traffic on Broward and University.

30. Riverwalk is a daily routine for cruising around.

31. The BB&T Center holds the best concerts in town as well as the Florida Panthers.

32. A1A is a staple to visit no matter what age you are.

33. You tend to avoid CB Smith Park.

34. You have been probably dragged to the Festival Flea Market once in your lifetime.

35. Gulf Stream Park made you feel rich.

36. You know the richer kids live in Weston.

37. You may have made fun of people taking the trolleys.

38. You know that Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hard Rock Live is pretty lively on a daily basis.

39. You miss the atmosphere of South Florida when you leave.

40. You know you will probably end up living here for the rest of your life because who doesn't love paradise and you have loved your experience so far.

So go out and explore what else South Florida has to offer for you!
