For many college students, we are collectively entering a massive hell week. If you're not already taking your finals, your classes are coming to a close and study-review days are looming. ...So, what's the best way to prepare?
1. Sleep.
This isn't just something that's important the night before the exam. There's no way to retain information if you're too exhausted to absorb it. Try letting your body wake up on its own in the mornings and get started with your day after that.
2. Don't Let Everything Else Fall By The Wayside
Continue to do your chores. Clean your room, throw a load of laundry in the washer while you review, do your dishes as a quick break. It's so much easier to feel stressed and overwhelmed when you have visible physical clutter. Maintain your space so you can have a better sense of peace in your mental space.
3. Make A Study Plan
Make a study plan with clear notes of what to study (homework, quizzes/tests, notes?), the date of the exam and possible conflicts and a goal of how many hours you want to put in. Set a goal grade, but be realistic with yourself.
4. Take Breaks
Get off campus for an hour or two each day or grab lunch with friends (I promise you can swing it). Spending all your time locked in your room or a cramped study room in the library is exhausting in itself, and you need fresh air and a clear mindset to have a positive outlook.
