There has been an evolution with my girl Ariana.
Since her TV debut on the hit show "Victorious" (unfairly cancelled, by the way) and her first two albums "Yours Truly" and "My Everything," she has grown up and created a whole new sound. If anyone remembers the release of "Focus," well, I can say fans thought this was the big hit before the third studio album. Six months later, "Focus" isn’t on the album and the title has changed from "Moonlight" to "Dangerous Woman." With an uproar of new singles already released within the span of a few months, I can actively await my rebirth at the hands of Ms. Grande.
Just a week short of the album release on May 20, here are some things we can expect from Ariana Grande’s "Dangerous Woman."
1. "Dangerous Woman"
First we have to start with the title song, "Dangerous Woman." When put up against her earlier release, "Focus," the two have a completely different sound. "Dangerous Woman" is nothing like any of her previous singles, and there’s definitely a new message being told. Personally, I think the tone of "Dangerous Woman" screams confident, sexy Ariana—something we haven’t seen yet. The guitar notes in the background make this song one for the bedroom. "Dangerous Woman" is claiming ownership of female sexuality.
I recommend playing this song while you are in your underwear dancing and having your own private sexy time.
2. "Be Alright"
If you haven’t seen Ariana Grande hosting SNL, I don’t know who you are nor where you live, but the important thing is that you missed out on an amazing performance of another single titled "Be Alright."
"Be Alright" claims a vibrant and updated beat giving the kids from the 90s a new Vogue. Madonna can now put her hands down. Aside from the title, the song stays true to its message of lifting your spirits. If only I could manage the choreography.
3. "Let Me Love You"
"Let Me Love You" puts a whole new spin on who Ariana is as a grown artist. From the title alone, fans may have implied a romantic ballad and some can argue that’s what they got. I’d say Ari went and re-informed me how risque this album was going to be. With a feature by Lil Wayne, the song starts off after a breakup and almost immediately to a one night stand. Thus I continue to believe this is a message of sex positivity and embracing one’s self I know I have been in need of.
Like "Dangerous Woman," "Let Me Love You" is another song that can be useful for an intimate setting.
4. "Into You"
Finally leading the way before the album’s release on Friday, May 20 comes "Into You." Again, I have had no idea what to expect with each new song. It seems this time Ariana has blown me away with this new tune.
"Into You" is with no doubt a club song, a crush song, a flirty song, an overall upbeat and sexy song. If you haven’t at least heard the beginning, then you can’t claim 90s TBT once the album is released. "Into You," like many of the other already released singles, has a 90s music infused vibe that can’t be beat. Ariana knows how to deliver.
"Into You" is a dance song you have to do in front of the mirror. It is the theme song I have when I see that one person across the way. No shame because "Dangerous Woman" is proving to be filled with tones of feminism I can’t even believe or handle.
Ariana has said the album's new title is much more of who she is right now and is something she hopes fans will enjoy. I can speak for myself when I say there is nothing I’m more excited about than this album at the moment.
Since the release of "Dangerous Woman," Ariana has been teasing us on social media with snippets of music from her third studio hit. On Instagram, she has published pictures and released different renditions of "Dangerous Woman" as well as a sexy music video to match.
From the first few tracks on the album, it is safe to say no one can really be prepared for the drop on Friday. If you haven’t done so, pre-order the album on iTunes or even her own website called DangerousWoman.com. Follow her social media accounts and beg for a new tour as I am getting ready for my rebirth. May 20 couldn’t get here any sooner.
