If you're a runner, you know that half the battle of a good a run is finding the perfect trail. And in a metropolis like New York, the act of finding that special spot away from the bustle of the city can even be more daunting. Thankfully, the Big Apple is brimming with great trails all around. If you're looking for a new work out routine, give one of these trails a try:

1. The High Line

Not just a trendy stroll on a Sunday afternoon, the High Line is a great spot for runners. The High Line is a feast for the eyes as you start in Hudson Yards and move your way into Chelsea, passing beautiful street art in the process. However, if you plan on running on the High Line, get there when the gates open 7 a.m. After about 8:30 a.m., the High Line gets too packed to get a decent jog amidst hundreds of visitors.

3.0 miles // 34th St. and 11th Ave.

2. Central Park

Central Park is the go-to place to run, because, yes, it's Central Park. However, the key to having a great run in Central Park is finding the right trail. On one of my first days in New York, I made the mistake of entering the park and just starting to run anywhere. I quickly found myself lost and confused in a giant oasis of green. I recommend the Jackie Kennedy Reservoir, a nice loop around the park's water that let's you peak at the Manhattan skyline.

1.5 mile loop // 86th St

3. Along the Hudson

Personally, I think this is the best running path in the city. While you do have to share with bikers and skaters, the views of the Hudson are breathtaking during sunrise or sunset. And, if you run downtown, you'll get an impressive view of the Freedom Tower and glances at the Statue of Liberty. Running down here will let you breathe the salty water of the Hudson and give your nose a break from NYC's garbage au parfum.

As long as you make it // Anywhere along 12th Ave. (Recommend starting about 40th St.)

4. Battery Park FiDi Loop

Starting off in Battery Park and looping around FiDi through Wall Street will give you insane views of Lower Manhattan and a calming breeze from the Hudson. You'll get to run through the grind of New York's FiDi without it ever feeling like a grind.

4.0ish loop // Begin Chambers St. and work your way around Battery Park, looping back up to Chambers St.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
