Don't get me wrong, fall semester at USC is incredible.
It's packed full of football games, reuniting with friends, warm weather and the holidays. Despite popular opinion, however, I like second semester even more than first semester.
Here are four reasons why:
1. Basketball Season
Basketball games at USC are low-key and relaxing in comparison to football games. They don't take up your whole day nor do you have to worry about experiencing a brutal hangover after the game like one does with football games. Also, basketball happens to be my favorite sport.
2. Spring Break
While Thanksgiving break is all about family, spring break is all about friends. It is a time to travel with your friends and create fun memories with them that will last a lifetime. At USC, Cabo is a popular spring break destination.3. Festival Season
Coachella and Stagecoach take place during second semester! Need I say more?4. Relationships
This is the main reason that I prefer second semester over first. The relationships that you have created during first semester become stronger and more authentic. Even as a sophomore I can say this is true. Winter break is short enough that I feel like I am only taking a break from school and visiting home. Whereas for me, summer break is so long that I completely readjust to life outside of school. Therefore, when I come back from winter break, my friendships at USC immediately progress.
