1. We have seen each other at our best and our worst.
It was the moment you finally got your braces off. It was the moment you guys got a pop quiz on that summer reading book that you didn't read. It was your first break up from the high school boy that broke your heart. It was the moment you got accepted into your dream college after all your hard work. You guys have been through each other's highs and lows, even if all of those times now seem like a distant memory. You have helped each other get through many obstacles that come with growing up, and you should always be grateful that you had them by your side during that specific time in your life.
2. We can happily look back on the past.
There is nothing like looking back on all the drama surrounding your classmates, teachers, parents and much more with your old friends. These high school memories will last forever, and it is always good to look back at your past with the people you shared it with. Even if the memories seemed very intense at the time, a lot of them may now seem laughable and like a good conversation starter. You can even learn from your past memories with them to make newer and stronger memories in the future!
3. We can offer advice for each other from an outsider's perspective.
Graduating high school comes with new highs, new lows and new scenarios in your life that you have never dealt with before. A lot of times it can be helpful to get advice from people that are not biased in certain situations, and your high school friends can be just the thing you need to cheer you up. Whether it is advice from an outside opinion or even just a distraction to talk about something else, your high school friends can be very helpful to you when you need them in whatever way you please.
4. Even though you might not see them all the time, you know they are always there.
Even if we haven't seen each other in weeks, when we do hang out we always pick up right where we left off. It is definitely a hard change to not see the friends you went to high school with every day anymore, but I have learned that you don't need to see someone all the time in order to remain close friends with them. Every moment that we do meet up and spend time with each other makes up for all the months not seeing them. You know you can always count on each other to have a fun time, and you know that they will always be there for you no matter how far away you are from them. Remember to always cherish these friendships because you share a strong bond that will only break if you let it.
