4 Reasons I'm Ready for Fall
quotesgram

Fall is just the best season ever and I'm not just saying that because I was born in the fall. It's just the best season that's the most relaxing and fun to me.

1. I love the beauty of nature.

Who doesn't love the wonderful color change of the leaves from a plain old green to a red, orange, and yellow color!? I also love walking in parks or down the sidewalks in a great breeze while hearing the crispy crunching the leaves under my feet. My favorite thing as a kid was to rake leaves into a giant pile and then jump in them and watch them just fly in the air as I landed onto them.

2. Fall means...... PUMPKINS!!!!

Lots and lots of pumpkins! I don't think any loves pumpkins more than I do. (Maybe my friend Elexus does but anyway..) My favorite is Pumpkin Cookie Butter spread. It is so so SO delicious and you can buy it at any store around the fall season. You can use it as a pancake topping, put it on toast, put it in oatmeal, make a sandwich with it or even just eat it like it is. Also I love pumpkin cake, pie, cookies, coffee creamer and pumpkin lattes. It just brings a greater joy to the fall weather and season. Another I love about pumpkins besides eating them, is decorating them! October is the month of the Halloween holiday so its fun to decorate pumpkins with cool and funky looking faces and putting little color candles into them and letting them light up the night sky!

3. Fall also means being able to watch the best movies ever on tv.

Every year, they come out with new movies around this time but the older ones are always the best, especially the scary ones. I love movies such as Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. My favorite scary ones are Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween. It's nice to just sit and relax during the fall season with family and friends by just coming together to hangout and watch movies and enjoy each other's time.

4. Fall also means a break from school for me.

At Virginia Wesleyan College, we have this thing called fall break and we have some days off from school. I use this time to take a break from everything and anything school related and just have some fun. Whether it is hanging out with friends, playing videogames, enjoying the outside weather. Anything to just relax and take away stress from dealing with school.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
