The Harry Potter Fandom took the world by storm and members of the Fandom began speculating about who was in which the four Hogwarts Houses. For instance, if I were sorting into a house, I'd be sorted into Hufflepuff. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, first you need to read the books because you're missing out, and I'll briefly explain before getting to the point. Hogwarts is a fictional school where young witches and wizards would learn their craft. While at this school the students are sorted into one of four different Houses named Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. These Houses were based off the principles of the Schools Founders. Gryffindor is the most well known of the houses because the protagonists of the Harry Potter Series belong to this house. Gryffindor's core value is courage. Ravenclaw's core value is Intelligence. Slytherin's core value is Ambition. Hufflepuff's core value is Loyalty. Among the houses Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin gets the most respect, and Hufflepuff has the reputation of being weak and boring House that only the average people get in Hufflepuff; while students with special traits get sorted into the other houses. However, I'm here to dispel those myths and show why Hufflepuff is actually one of, if not the, best House.
1. Loyalty
As Hufflepuff's core value loyalty plays in integral part of our lives. This makes our House a very tight-knit group of friends whom you know will have your back. You mess with one Hufflepuff you mess with us all. However, we aren't just blindly loyal. Our loyalty has to be earned, and if you break trust or lose our respect it's hard to win back our loyalty.Make a friend with a Hufflepuff you have a true friend.
2. Inclusivity
When trying to decide who to let into her House Helga Hufflepuff, the founder of Hufflepuff House, decided she would take whoever the other houses didn't want. Meaning we have one of, if not the, most diverse House at Hogwarts; because anyone and everyone is welcome. However, we also don't discriminate in who we befriend. For example have you ever wondered why Hufflepuff and Slytherin were close friends though Slytherin had a reputation of producing dark witches and wizards? Because Hufflepuffs will determine who to put their trust in based on individual action and not rumor or reputation.
3. We're not afraid to fight
I don't were Hufflepuff got the reputation of being afraid of fighting, but we aren't afraid to fight to protect those we care about. For example, according to JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, said that all the Hufflepuffs stayed behind to fight at the Battle of Hogwarts. Also, they weren't being reckless or trying to show off, they were fighting to protect their home. This is why the Honey Badger is the symbol for our House. Because they can be docile until provoked. Then they are ferocious.
4. J.K. Rowling
The author herself is on record saying that Hufflepuff is her favorite House, and that Hufflepuff is the house that everyone should strive to be apart of, and is disappointed when people feel it's a bad thing to be sorted into Hufflepuff House.
