Are you looking to get a once in a lifetime experience? Are you looking to get out of the country and explore new places? Do you want to put a thousand miles between you and that annoying roommate? Say no more, I got two words for you: study abroad.

Studying abroad may be one of the most beneficial experiences for a college student. By studying abroad, you have the opportunity to study in a foreign nation and take in the culture of the area. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, and here is why you should do it:

1. See the world.

One reason why you should consider a study abroad program is the opportunity to see the world. By going abroad, you will experience a brand-new country with incredible new outlooks, customs and activities. The benefits of going abroad include the opportunity to see new terrains, natural wonders, museums and landmarks of your host nation. In addition, when you’re abroad, you won’t be limited to traveling in just the nation in which you are studying – you can see neighboring countries as well! For example, if you study in France, you’ll have the option to travel through various parts of Europe including London, Barcelona and Rome. The amount of things to do on a weekend or off day is seemingly endless.

2. Experience diverse forms of education.

Another reason you might want to consider studying abroad is for the chance to experience different styles of education. By enrolling in a study abroad program at a University overseas, you’ll have the chance to see a side of your major that you may not have been exposed to at home. You’ll find that completely immersing yourself in the education system of a country of your choice is a great way to really experience and understand the people, its traditions, and its culture. After all, education is the "centerpiece" of any study abroad trip...when you're not being a full on tourist.

3. Learn a new language.

If you end up planning on studying abroad, one of the major keys is the opportunity to study a foreign language. Studying abroad grants you the opportunity to completely surround yourself in a new and most likely foreign language, and there is no better way to learn than to dive right in. And if you're lucky, maybe the locals will teach you some key phrases while you're there.

4. Discover new hobbies and interests.

If you're still on the fence as to why to study abroad, you should know that studying in a different country offers the opportunity to explore new hobbies or interests that you may never have discovered if you’d stayed at home or on campus. It could be possible that you are actually really good at a local native game or sport, or something that you were never able to do at home. You’ll also have the chance to discover other new and exciting forms of entertainment by having the opportunity to attend plays, movies, dancing, nightclubs, and concerts. Going abroad goes far beyond the classroom.

In the end, if you're still asking "Why should I study abroad," then sit back and realize that this could be an opportunity that you will never be able to take again. This may be the only opportunity they ever get to travel abroad for a long period of time. Eventually, you will find a job and career, and the opportunity to study abroad may turn out to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I highly recommend you take this opportunity to travel the world with no commitments but to study and learn about new cultures. Studying abroad is an experience unlike any other, and is something that I look forward to doing, and you should too.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
