Over the past two weeks, I've presented you with the pros and cons of becoming a Pokémon master, and I am assuming you've decided that the benefits far outweigh the risks only associated with the misuse of PoGo. If you're one of the three people on Earth not playing Pokémon right now, feel free to disregard the valuable information I'm about to give you, but for the rest of you, listen up. Here are four of the top Pokémon Go hotspots to hatch those eggs, lure those stops, conquer those gyms and catch 'em all.
1. Churches
In my experience, churches are almost always Pokéstops, and they are often gyms as well. Churches are absolutely everywhere in the Bible Belt, and are a very accessible outlet for your PoGo-ing. While I'm sure they've become a bit of a distraction during sermons, having your church registered as a Pokéstop or gym is a creative, new and effective way of bringing visitors.
2. Popular Local Restaurants
It's fun to go out to eat with friends and family, and now you can train your team while you enjoy your meal -- just be sure to socialize every now and again; after all, you're out with your friends. Restaurants registered as Pokéstops are pretty much everywhere in more populated areas of cities, and they offer what could now even be considered an additional service to customers: stocking up on Poké Gear. As a restaurant owner, you'd have to be insane to not capitalize on the goldmine that is Pokéhunting.
3. Public Parks
While I see a certain irony in the fact that a public outlet usually associated with enjoying the outdoors and disconnecting from technology for an afternoon of sports and sunshine is now a hub for smartphone-toting Pokémaniacs, I appreciate any attempt to get people active. Public parks are a great location for finding higher concentrations of Pokémon and often more rare Pokémon. Besides the PoGo usages, public parks are just awesome -- go take the dog for a stroll.
4. College Campuses
If there weren't enough reasons why I love college, here's another. College campuses are THE BOMB for finding lots and lots of Pokémon. There are stops on every corner of the map, lures active constantly and often lots of other PoGoers to talk to. If you live on campus, you're in even more luck, but even if you don't, walking to and from class every day guarantees you some distance on that egg and some Poké Balls in your pockets.
