New Year's Eve doesn't have to be celebrating with a big party! Low-key events are my favorite because they are sometimes more fun than partying with a big group of people that you don't know as well. When you are with close friends, family, or your significant other, you can have a great time and relax more. Here are four ideas to have a relaxing, but still fun, New Year's Eve:
1. Have a movie night.
You could go see the New “Star Wars” movie. Or Jennifer Lawrence’s new movie “Joy.” Either way, this low-key idea for a fun New Year’s is sure to keep you entertained. Buy a big bucket of popcorn and a large drink and settle into your movie theater seats for a chill night. You could even have the movie night from the comfort of your living room. Have a movie night based on a theme, like “Harry Potter” or “Mean Girls.” You could even just do a marathon of your favorite TV or movie series. This is a great way to have a low-key marathon!
2. Make it a game night.
Whether you are spending New Year’s Eve with your significant other, your best friend or your family, this idea for celebrating New Year’s Eve is a fun one! You get to skip the fancy parties and getting dressed up, instead celebrating in some pajamas and people close to you. Throw in some alcohol for an even more entertaining evening celebrating the New Year.
3. Find some new recipes that you've been wanting to try and make them.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate the New Year than with eating, but that could just be because I love food. Find a new use for chocolate through a new recipe, or make a that Italian dish you have been craving. Invite some friends and family and share your new dishes. This is an easy, but still delicious, way to spend your New Year's Eve.
4. Go ice-skating.
This is another great idea that can be spent with friends, family, or your significant other. Ice-skating is fun and a great way to spend time with people who are special to you. Grab some hot cocoa after to really celebrate the chilly weather.
No matter what you end up doing on your New Year's Eve, just remember to have fun! I personally will be on a plane with my cousin to Florida, so I will be celebrating in some warm weather. I hope everyone has a great New Year's!
