1. You'll eat more ramen and microwavable mac and cheese than you ever thought possible

2. You don't have time to put makeup on, ever

Unless you want to wake up 2 hours early (guilty)

3. Your high school friends are just high school friends

If you only talk to like, 3 people from high school, that's normal. You're going to realize that most of those people were friends just because you saw each other everyday

4. Leggings and sweatpants > jeans

5. Getting 8 hours of sleep is a gift

6. The library is your best friend

God bless 24 hour quiet rooms

7. You won't like your dorm room neighbors

8. The dining hall food takes some time to get used to

9. The dining hall food is only good on open house/tour days

10. Laundry day only happens when absolutely necessary

11. You can write a research paper in a day or two, if you really believe in yourself

12. Your high school teachers lied

Your proffessors won't be that scary and standoffish, and no, you won't have insane amounts of impossible homework every night.

13. You'll probably change your major

14. Pizza is good any time

15. Your planner is your best friend

16. You make friends that actually like you

17. It's easier to sit through a 75 minute class than to fall behind

18. Netflix is a life saver

19. Campus activities are actually fun

Clubs are the best way to get involved

20. You'll miss your parents/family members

21. You learn how to pay for coffee in exact change

22. Coffee is like water at this point

23. Eating healthy is very difficult

So is keeping up with a workout regimen.

24. The best times are going to be just hanging out, not partying

I'm not a partier, however I do know that this is true (just take my word for it)

25. Going home is a luxury

26. Sparknotes is life

27. You learn how to deal with loans

28. How to properly use public bathrooms

29. How important it is to clean

30. How to grocery shop on a budget

31. How to live with a stranger

32. Communication is key

Especially with profs, roommates, S.O.'s, etc.

33. It's easy to fall behind

34. Gen eds are worse than core classes

35. How to be a DIY decoration master

36. How expensive gas is

37. Who has time to wash their hair everyday? Not you

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
