35 Thoughts You Have the Night Before Leaving For College
Kelley O'Toole

The night before you leave for college, whether it is your first year or your last, is one filled with panic and excitement. You are excited to go to school and see your friends, but also nervously last-minute packing. Leaving for college is physically and emotionally exhausting, but we can all do it.

1. I cannot wait to move out and not have my parents telling me what to do

2. Dad?! Did you wash my favorite shorts?

3. I would live at home forever if it meant my parents would always do my laundry and cook my food.

4. I'm going to do all the fun things with my friends!

5. How much Netflix can I watch instead of packing?

6. Is there a limit to how many dresses I can bring?

7. Did I remember to pack my laptop?

8. How has the summer gone by so quickly?

9. OK focus. It's midnight, and I have to leave tomorrow morning.

10. I haven't even packed half my stuff.

11. Why do I always procrastinate?

12. I should have started doing this weeks ago.

13. What if I get there and I forgot something important?

14. I should Google a packing list.

15. I'll check my emails first.

16. Sale at J. Crew? I'll check that out too.

17. No, I need to focus on packing.

18. Almost done.

19. I wonder what will happen at home when I'm gone?

20. Will my parents change?

21. This room, my childhood bedroom, will never be mine again the way it was growing up.

22. I love my parents, and my hometown, and my friends there, but this isn't the place I belong anymore.

23. I am so excited for college, even the homework parts.

24. I am also dreading the homework parts.

25. What will I do after college?

26. Oh my God, I have no idea that is so stressful; I am about to have a panic attack right now.

27. I really don't want to pack.

28. What if I just go through my scrapbooks instead?

29. It's crazy how much has changed in my life so far, and who knows what is coming?

30. Mom! Where did you put my Pillow Pet?!

31. I have way too many clothes. How am I going to pack all of these?!

32. Why do I let myself buy these things?

33. Oh, this sweater would look really cute with that pink skirt I saw at Gap.

34. If I just wish, will this all magically appear in my dorm room?

35. And I still have to unpack this when I get there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
