1. Realizing it's finals week

2. A

lso realizing you haven’t studied yet

3. Frantically searching through canvas to make sure you've completed everything

4. Also seeing what grade you need on the final to not fail

5. Realizing how many lectures you may or may not have missed

6. Also realizing that that one nap wasn't worth missing the class

7. Just kidding naps are always worth it

8. Starting to get determined for studying

9. But then seeing all your books and lecture notes and wanting to cry

10. Maybe one episode of Netflix won't hurt

11. But then the one episode turns into 4 or 5... maybe 9

12. It's going to be a rough week, just finish the entire season

13. Realizing you just wasted several hours and you contemplate if it's actually worth it

14. Contemplating switching majors

15. Because so many people switch their majors right?

16. Realizing that you can actually do it.

17. Finally sitting down and studying

18. Chugging every drop of coffee and energy drinks in sight

19. Where’s the closest Starbucks?

20. Realizing you don't know a single drop of the material, go back to step 9

21. Treat yourself to a study break

22. Even though you haven’t studied an ounce of material

23. Maybe switching scenery will help

24. *Goes to the library and snap chats with the filter of Halle Library to show people you’re studying *

25. Spends the rest of the time on social media

26. It’s going to be a long night

27. 2am comes around and realizing that if you don’t know the material now you wont by the morning

28. Realizing all those forward messages about luck from middle school and high school that you never forwarded are now giving you bad luck

29. Why do teachers even give finals?

30. Don't they realize how hard they are?

31. *takes final *

32. Okay next semester I’m going to stay on top of studying and not waste time!

33. *repeat*

Finals really are the most stressful week of every semester for college students. Make things easier and try to study as much as you can (not the night before) to reduce stress and actually get some sleep!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
