32 Signs You Are Single And Happy That Way

Because alone time is so comforting.

I recently read an article on Odyssey's titled "32 Signs You Are With The Right Person." And while I'm happy for the people that have seem to find their soulmate, I want to reiterate the fact that you can be happy being single. Being single isn't this terrible thing where you have nightmares of dying alone surrounded by 32 cats, but rather an experience that everyone should go through. Be single. Love life. Be free.

1. You like staying home and watching Netflix, snuggled up in your bed.

2. You can go out and dance without having to worry about anyone else.

3. Being alone doesn't scare you, but you actually love spending time with yourself.

4. You don't let anyone else control you.

5. You are in charge of making your own plans.

6. You have a group of friends that you love hanging out with.

7. You're free to date, hook up, or talk to anyone you have a slight interest in.

8. Going alone to date parties is second nature to you.

9. You're used to being the third (or fifth) wheel.

10. You have no one to worry about but yourself.

11. You don't have to worry about long-distance relationships during or after college.

12. You also don't have to worry about making plans with your significant other after college.

13. You're learning to be independent at an early age.

14. Even though you have to pay for your meals, at least you're learning how to budget your money.

15. You don't have any relationship troubles like fighting over stupid, random things.

16. You're always willing to try new things, experience new things.

17. You have a more open mind.

18. You're always the one out of your friend group to suggest something fun to do or always the one to say yes to something.

19. There's nothing holding you back completely.

20. Even though you aren't in a relationship, you have amazing friends that keep you grounded.

21. You can work on loving yourself before you give your heart fully to someone else.

22. No heartbreaks.

23. You have more time to hang out with friends.

23. You don't have to worry about being jealous of the other.

24. You have more time to focus on school!

25. Instead of relying on someone calling you "hot" or "sexy," you can call yourself beautiful and self-love is the most important thing in the world.

26. When you see that cute guy in your math class, you can ooh and ahh over him and go flirt with him without anyone getting jealous.

27. You can travel alone.

28. Because when you feel happy and alone, you've truly felt the meaning of happiness.

29. You learn how to be responsible.

30. You get to be a little bit selfish.

31. When Justin Bieber magically appears in front of your door, he can sweep you off your feet into the sunset without worrying about your pesky little bf.

32. Because when you do get in a relationship, you can be completely secure in yourself and your relationship.

Being single is scary. You can feel alone, happy, sad, and depressed at different times. But once you realize that being single is not that bad but actually a really great thing, it's honestly an experience that everyone should have.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
