For the past nine years, I have gone to a Christian summer camp. The last two summers I was even a part of my camp's Leadership Development Program. In the course of two summers, we spent 16 weeks together (all 25 of us). We went on a five-day hike the first summer and then a six-day hike this past summer up in the White Mountains (I almost died several times). In the summer of 2014 we went on a nine-day canoe trip down the Allagash river then this past summer we traveled all the way to Canada, in the middle of nowhere, to go on a 10-day canoe trip. We even survived a 24-hour solo and then a 48-hour solo. They left me alone on an island for two days with basically just a sleeping bag and a Bible. Surprisingly that was the most life changing experience of my life. Since I basically grew up at this camp, I know that there are things that people say pretty frequently. Here is my compilation:
1. Chacos and socks are so comfortable.
2. When do we leave for the hike?
3. I’ll pray for you.
4. Do we need our Bibles?
5. Do we need running sneakers?
6. Should I bring my camera?
7. I love having a break from technology.
8. How can I pray for you?
