Everyone has those small things that can't help but put a smile on our face. Sure, they may not be significant. Maybe they're even kind of silly, but sometimes we have to remember it's the little things that make life fun. They might be random, unusual, even weird, but they make us feel some type of way that almost can't be explained.

1. A fresh jar of peanut butter.

It's just so smooth and perfect!

2. Fresh sheets on a bed.

There's nothing like trying to slide in and out without undoing those tightly-folded corners .

3. The ice cream that’s on the lid of the container.

Yes, I am going to scrape the ice cream off the lid and eat it. Get the judgment out of your eyes!

4. First sip of coffee in the morning.

If you are drinking coffee this morning, and you are thinking, Ah, yes, superb, we are thinking the same thing, my friend.

5. When the song you want comes on the radio.

Sure, you could plug in your iPhone and select any song you wanted, but when it comes on the radio, it's just more fulfilling.

6. Or when the song ends as you pull in the driveway.

It's all just perfect timing. And if it isn't perfect timing, don't be ashamed to take laps around the block until that favorite song of yours ends.

7. Perfectly ripe bananas.

Peel, bite, breaks into three pieces in your mouth.

8. When you find money in your pocket you forgot about.

"Hey, there's a dollar in my pocket!"

9. A really sharp pencil.

It's literally on point! Ha, ha! Get it? Because it's literally pointy.

10. Perfectly swirled ice cream cone.

(Takes picture and Instagrams.)

11. That feeling when you lie down after a long day.

All of your muscles relax when you dive into bed.

12. Fresh tube of tooth paste.

Do I squeeze from bottom or top this time? Important decisions.

13. When your Dunkin' is on point.

Not all Dunkin' Donuts orders are created equal, but when your coffee is made perfectly there's nothing better. (Large iced coffee, two pumps of caramel and milk please!)

14. Randomly checking the clock in the middle of the night and realizing you have more time to sleep

Oh, look, it's 4:03 a.m. (Proceeds to roll over and go back to bed.)

15. When you rip paper without tearing it.

Even, if it's already perforated.

16. Fresh snow fall.

It's so perfect because it hasn't had a chance to get all dirty yet. It just makes everything look prettier!

17. A good hair day and your make-up is just right.

What could be bad about looking good?

18. When your socks match.

I'm constantly caught between two schools of philosophy: when your socks match, you have your life together, or life's too short to match your socks.

19. When you pump gas and get the exact dollar amount.

Twenty dollars, flat! High five!

20. When you have exact change.

It's like you're rounding down a whole dollar which makes it seem like you're saving money. (You aren't actually saving anything but it's still a nice feeling.)

21. Taking your bra off.

You know what I mean ladies.

22. Shooting a ball of paper into a garbage can.

Kobe!

23. Cracking your knuckles.

Ah, that sweet oxygen release.

24. Saying the same thing simultaneously as someone else

Jinx! You owe me a soda.

25. Sound of opening a soda, beer, or Snapple.

Pop, fizz, clink.

26. Sleeping in on a rainy day.

Netflix and snoozing all day.

27. Getting packages.

It makes the anticipation of the mail so exiting!

28. Making the yellow light.

Squeeze the lemon.

29. Receiving an unexpected compliment.

To the person who told me I looked put together today, you made my day.

30. Getting a pull through.

Backing out is for chumps!

31. The celebration in the moment something finally makes sense.

Oh, now I get it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
