College is a special time in life. Through the 15 pounds you somehow manage to gain through all the pizza and ice cream, the late night Netflix marathons, study sessions that end in break downs, and memories with friends you'll never forget. Whether you've been in college for 1 month, or you've just graduated, you've definitely experienced these 30 things.

1. When for once you're not wearing leggings and a comfort colors T-Shirt.

Everyone knows that the unspoken dress code of college is some leggings or running shorts and a comfy tee. When you finally get the time and energy to dress up you make sure to milk ever second of it.

2. When it gets around exam time and you can't stop studying.

Exam time is the most stressful time of the year. No matter if you have 2 exams or 8, you still stress about studying. I know I've been guilty of locking myself in my room day in and day out to make sure I get a perfect grade.

3. And with exams comes the worst sleep schedule ever.

Try going to sleep at a decent time after you've been up till 6 in the morning studying for exams for weeks. I've been out of school for a month now and I still don't even get tired until 6 am.

4. When your parents call and you have to act like everything is fine.

But really you haven't showered in 3 days, only ate an apple in the last 24 hours, and haven't slept in a week because of all the homework.

5. How it feels after syllabus week.

Syllabus week; everything is perfect and fine.
1 day after syllabus week; say hello to daily breakdowns.

6. When you actually cook for yourself.

Coming home on breaks feels like staying at a 5-star hotel. I promise you don't miss anything more than a good home-cooked meal after a month at the dinning hall.

7. Forgetting you have a test.

Forgetting a test is probably the worst feeling ever, doing well on the test you forgot is probably the best feeling ever.

8. Finally coming home on a break.

If you saw #6 you'll understand.

9. When you walk into class ready for an exam, then see the first question.

Remember that test you studied oh-so-hard for but, then you look at the first question and suddenly forget everything.

10. When anything bad happens.

Basically the reason for the freshman 15.

11. When your family comes to visit.

This is the time of year when your family finally see's all the junk you've been eating.

12. What your brain is saying anytime you have to write a paper.

Writing a paper feels like the end of the world, you know you have to write it but the whole time your brain is just saying, "you don't have to."

13. When you realize college is nothing like high school.

This one is for all you who basically just flew through high school with no problem but, soon you realize, the hard way, you have to really try in college.

14. Being surprised when you fail a test you didn't even study for.

Again, thanks brain for telling me that I don't have to study.

15. When you're the only one of your friends with a test coming up.

"Wanna go get food?" "Wanna go out?"
No, I have to study.

16. When your professor makes the class do ice breakers.

... and everyone is more interesting than you.

17. Crying is a common thing.

No one's really surprised when they see you crying in the corner.

18. Friends who have breakdowns together, stay together.

Crying is so common it just comes along with studying.

19. When you were doing so well and then suddenly...

You look at your grades and you have 2 D's and a B-.

20. Just... college.

How do I cook? Can I put this shirt in the dryer? What happens if I get ketchup on my bed?

21. Trying to get ready for exams.

Actually, not just exams... any test.

22. Seeing someone cute and you haven't changed in 2 days.

Sometimes you just forget when you have to stay up all night studying and crying, but then you finally make it outside and of course you run into someone cute.

23. When all of your teachers assign things at once.

You can go through a week with no work and then BAM all of your teachers decide to assign work. Suddenly you have 4 tests, 5 projects, and 2 papers due yesterday.

24. How you feel after a long night of studying.

Exams, projects, tests, papers, anything.

25. How it feels when your parents give you money.

Eating at the dining hall sucks, but you don't really have money to eat out so when your parents give you some it's like christmas.

26. Trying to find a book for your class when its on backorder.

"Hi, when is this book going to be coming in?" the answer is always "I don't know, maybe a few days or months?"

27. Missing ONE day of class.

Miss a day and you'll feel like you're suddenly a year behind.

28. Late night study cravings.

When you stay up all night studying you're bound to get hungry. Usually though, theres nothing open at 4 am.

29. When you wonder if you really made the right choice.

Am I really made out for college? What if I just don't? What would happen if I changed my major now?

30. When you get through the school year in one piece.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
