30 Thoughts That Every Senior has in High School
Clarkson.Edu

From the very beginning of the school year, most seniors have only one thing on their mind: graduation. For whatever reason, we're in this huge rush to get it all over with. It's not always necessarily because we despise going to school so much, but rather the fact that we're becoming young adults. Whether your 18th birthday is in September or June, we're all starting to feel a little too old for high school. Being surrounded by minors can become quite vexing after a while. Additionally, the limited freedom that high school students have, plays a crucial role in the development of this immense itch to graduate. The dances don't give you the same overzealous feeling in your stomach as they did at 14; and sometimes, you've been there so long that you almost have to remind yourself that you're a senior. While we come to these realizations, here are 30 thoughts that every senior has had at least once.

1) How YOUNG are these underclassmen?
2) Wow! I'm an adult!
3) Am I even ready to be an adult? Wasn't I just 10 last week?
4) I'm so excited for college.
5) Nah, just kidding, I'm scared. I'm not going.
6) What's a FASFA?
7) What year is it? What grade am I in? What class am I even going to?
8) Why did I like this as a freshman?
9) Why did I listen to people who said senior year was easy?
10) I can vote but I can't even remember what I studied last night.
11) I'll just do it next year!
12) Oh right, I won't be here.
13) What day is Graduation?
14) I'm the only one who's born in the 90's here.
15) Every other class from now on will be born in the 2000's.
16) Do you think they'll mind if I run to Chick Fil A for lunch?
17) Wow, I'm getting tired of this.
18) This was more fun when I was a freshman.
19) There's no way I'm a senior.
20) What's my age again?
21) Do the freshman even know what this is?
22) I thought this year was supposed to fly by.
23) Oh wait, it's almost Thanksgiving.
24) Oh cool, no exams.
25) Why do I have so much homework?
26) Can I just pass on taking my SATs?
27) Why did I care so much about what other's thought when I was younger, not caring is great!
28) Why is this 4 years the quickest eternity ever?
29) Why didn't I start getting involved in this sooner?
30) Okay, I think it's time to Graduate now.

Ultimately, no matter how old we start to feel, everything that we've done in the past 4 years has been important. From football games and pep rallies, to AP exams and midterms, everything was worth it. Even though sometimes it's tempting, we shouldn't rush for it all to end. It's okay to stay young for as long as we can be.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
