Until fairly recently, I thought it was the big moments that mattered in my life. It was the parties I went to, or the concerts I attended, or the awards I got that were important. It didn’t occur to me that it’s the small moments in life that really matter. The small moments in life may seem well, small, but they are also the things we should be appreciating the most. Below I have listed 30 small things that we all need to appreciate a little bit more.
1. Coffee dates with friends
2. Laughing until your stomach hurts
3. Eating a really good piece of pizza
4. Warm clothes right out of the dryer
5. Getting really good advice when you need it the most
6. Warm, sunny days
7. Finding money in your pocket that you forgot was there
8. Spontaneous late night trips to Whataburger
9. Someone genuinely asking how you’re doing
10. Rainfall while going to bed
11. Talking to your family on the phone after something funny happened at home
12. A long hug after not seeing someone for a while
13. Knowing all the words to a song that comes on the radio
14. Getting a full night of sleep (rarely happens so be extra appreciative)
15. Reminiscing about old memories with high school friends
16. Having time to read/journal/draw
17. Finishing all your homework at a reasonable hour
18. Catching up with family that you haven’t seen for a while
19. Music that describes exactly how you’re feeling
20. Random acts of kindness by strangers
21. When flowers start blooming at the beginning of spring
22. Hitting several green lights in a row
23. Talking to your elders about their experiences and memories
24. Early morning class getting cancelled
25. When plans you were dreading get cancelled

27. Getting a good grade on a test that you thought you bombed
