Are you wondering which minicourse to take at Rutgers? These minicourses teach beneficial information and have a simple workload.

1. Career Explorations in Art and Sciences

This course gives you one and half credits. You can find it in the arts and sciences. This course lasts for the whole semester. It teaches you how to make resumes and cover letters. It also prepares you for interviews. I recall that my classmates and I had to do an assignment where we met representatives of a certain career or job. They gave us their business cards. There is also an assignment where you can contact a Rutgers alumnus about his or her job. The workload is not bad. This class is a chill class. Check out the times, days, and professors available. There are a lot of sections for the class. Make sure you choose the right section because some sections only accept sophomores, juniors, or seniors. Note that this class might change its format. Some sections might be in-person or online. My section did not require a textbook. I am not sure about the other sections.

2. Short Topics on Work

This online class gives you one credit. You can find it under labor studies. This class lasts for half of the semester. You do not need to purchase a textbook for this class. In this online class, I have to watch lecture videos on information literacy. I also have to write a synopsis where we synthesize and think about the concepts from the videos. The synopsis is not a formal essay. It only requires at least two hundred fifty words. There is an activity that relates to the lecture videos that we have to do. My classmates and I also have to participate in the discussion forum. The questions are straightforward. There is no need to use quotes and analysis. Note that this class often changes its format.

3. Emotionally Intelligent Leadership

This online class gives you 1.5 credits. You can find it under leadership. This class lasts for half of the semester. In this class, we do essays, quizzes, and discussion forums. There is an electronic copy of the book in Rutgers libraries. You need to incorporate quotes and critical thinking in the essays and discussion forums. The quizzes are about the textbook. You can use the textbook to aid you as you do the quizzes because there is no online proctoring app for the class. Note that this class might change its format. Check which professor is right for you.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
