Either you love it or hate it, but Halloween is something you can not ignore when October arrives. So instead of turning off all your lights and hiding behind the curtains when little trick-or-treaters are walking down your sidewalk, why not embrace the Halloween spirit? The best way you can connect with Halloween is give it a try and welcome it upon your doorsteps.
1. It's a great time to dress up!
Halloween is one of the many days where anyone can go outside and be a witch for a day, or even be a walking iPod. Halloween is the perfect time to show your creativity. You get to choose how much effort you want to spend on a costume. Those who are more picky might spend more on a costume than those who are not looking to spend anything and can just get it for free from a closet. You can look through Amazon and purchase a Stormtrooper outfit for $50. Or you can look through your closet and grab a black-tshirt, black pants, buy inexpensive cat ears, and you will still look great. When it comes to Halloween, it does not matter how much you spend on a costumes as long as you are feeling the Halloween vibe. So get in touch with your favorite childhood pastime, be something spooky, get creative and remember that Halloween is a day to be dress up and have fun with it.
2. Its a time to party.
When fall comes around, many of us are on the verge of a meltdown. This is due to midterms, long hours at work and too much sunshine for Southern Californians. While Christmas and New Years parties are still a little far away, Halloween is just the perfect day to, yes, party. The great thing about a Halloween party is if you are an introvert or extrovert, you will still have a fun time.
If you are an introvert, that means you like to keep at home at times, or you are more simple. Therefore you can choose whatever you want your Halloween party to be. For example, you can invite couple of friends over, or even just one, and carve pumpkins for fun. Or you and your friends can eat a whole bag of candy. On top of it all, you can turn off all the lights and watch scary movies, and when it gets too scary, switch it to a more fun movie like BeetleJuice. The best part is you do not have to leave home to have fun and enjoy Halloween.
For an extrovert, Halloween is a great day to party hard. There are plenty of great things to do on Halloween. For example, you and your friends can try and catch as many Halloween parties as you can. Or you can do something new like visit your local Halloween parade or carnival. Halloween Day is a great day to dress up and get together with your friends and party the night away, but just remember to be safe.
3. Do not forget the treats!
Halloween is a day filled with treats! So go ahead and stuff your self with orange-frosted cupcakes, or even get your first bite of pumpkin pie. You can also purchase bags of candy to give out to the little trick-or treaters and see their joy and their cute costumes. Halloween is filled with great treats, having fun making them, buying them and sharing with the trick-or-treaters, friends, family and do not forget to have a sweet Halloween time.
For those who are not into Halloween, I hope these three reasons can lift your Halloween spirits. Rather, try to participate in Halloween even if it means just by wearing cat ears at your home and watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas." For those who love Halloween, still keep your spirit and enjoy your spooky night. Lastly, whether you are an introvert or an extrovert, do not forget to monster mash your night away.
