As the New Year approaches, now is a really good time for reflection. It’s a good time to the think about the friends made and lost, the failed and successful relationships, and the various resolutions that lasted about a month. The start of a new year is also a good time for fresh starts with new people (even though sometimes that means leaving people behind). Here are three people in your life that you should considering leaving in 2015.
The F-Boy
If someone came to mind after reading that subtitle, then it’s definitely time to let him go. If he hasn’t changed his ways or given you the commitment that you are looking for, then it’s time to move on. The chances of you finding a new guy are much higher than the chances of him changing. The F-Boy phase is a long one and you have to let it run its course, but you don’t have to stick around while it does.
Resolution: When people show you their true colors, believe them.
The Frenemy
You’re constantly asking yourself why you’re friends with this person…so for once and for all, why are you friends with her? If she’s constantly putting you down, never supports you, and doesn’t listen to you, then it is time to leave her behind. It’ll be hard, but with better friends you’ll be a much happier person. You are who you hang out with.
Resolution: Be a better listener and friend overall. Be the kind of friend you wish to attract.
The Negative YOU
Sometimes it’s really difficult to see the good in ourselves. There’s constantly someone to compare yourself to, making you feel like you’re not good enough. Whether it be work, school, or your social life, you have to realize that you are good enough. A new year is a great time to renew your attitude about yourself. If you don’t love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to?
Resolution: Every morning, find something positive about yourself to appreciate.
Happy New Year!
