If you've lived in Ohio for any amount of time, then you definitely know that finding something new to do or a new cafe' to visit is absolutely a huge deal. If you're out and about this summer and find that you want to explore a new facet of Ohio's lesser known treasure troves of artistic, culinary, or athletic culture, you definitely need to explore the following places.
1. Yellow Springs, Ohio

If you're into anything like what I listed above, then Yellow Springs is absolutely the place to be. With a blooming brewery, fantastic park and hiking range, and various local eateries and shops, this small town needs to be number one on your to-do list for the summer. If you need coffee, the place to go is definitely Spirited Goat Cafe - their artistic vibe and amazing espresso are perfect for a walk around the city. If beer is what you need - Yellow Springs Brewery is where you need to be. With interesting variety of brews and a community oriented atmosphere, this place is an absolute must see!
2. Dayton, Ohio
Even though this city is definitely noted in any discussion of SW OH, the downtown scene of Dayton is rapidly growing. From local breweries like Dayton Beer Company and Warped Wing Brewery to quaint coffee spots like Ghostlight Coffee, and cultural hotspots like the Dayton Art Institute, this should definitely be on your summer list of visits.
3. Cincinnati, Ohio
Of all of these beautiful cities, I'm going to say I'm a little biased on this last one - my hometown, the beloved nasty 'nati. Having lived here for going on 20 years aka my entire life, I've come to learn so much about the growing culture and amazing things to do in this city, and if you haven't visited or even look us up on the map yet you need to get on it.
Cincinnati has not only grown consistently over the past decade, but its culture has changed rapidly and the visual appeal of the city has evolved as well. Coming to this treasure of a city is so life-changing. The culture of community built around art, food, beer, coffee, and so many other things has expanded, and just a few examples of this are Findlay Market, Over-the-Rhine as a whole, Rhinegeist Brewery, Madtree Brewing Company, Coffee Emporium, Off The Vine, and so many other amazing places that people indulge in different aspects of this growing culture.
If you haven't visited any of these hidden gems of the city, PLEASE do, as you are certainly missing out on the beauty and delicious foods which the colorful brick walls hold.
