29 Things All Fangirls Understand

You've definitely debated selling your kidney for concert tickets.

The tears. The stalking. The hours of live-tweeting you'll never get back. It's all in the name of being a fangirl. Whether it's your first concert or your 15th, some things just never change. Friends can come and go, and the years will carry on, but the love a fangirl has for her favorite band will never die.

Here are some things all fangirls will experience in their concert lives:

1. Today is the day you've been waiting for: Tour announcement

After weeks of speculation and Twitter hints, your favorite band is going on tour and you live in a major city. You’re in luck! They’ll be here a year from now.

2. But the tickets go on sale on Friday... which is four days away...

And you are broke.

3. You add up what's left of your holiday, birthday and graduation funds to score those tickets...

But you only have $10. Cool.

4. Now it's time to beg your parents

Maybe they’ll sympathize with you. Probably not. But you promise them it can count towards a gift for your next life milestone. They reluctantly agree.

5. Tickets are up in five minutes. Prepare for the Hunger Games

You have four computers open and your best friend is on the phone with you also trying for tickets. You've never hit the refresh button more times in your life than right now.

6. The Ticket Gods came through and somehow you've nabbed fifth row seats

"Hey now, hey now. This is what dreams are made of..."

7. You know what that means...

8. Over the course of the next year, you watch every video/interview/movie they may post and appear in

9. And you pick out the perfect outfit

10. Fast forward a few months, and the day of the concert has arrived. You are ready to go

11. You've waited in line for literally five hours

And you haven't gotten any younger...

12. It's down pouring outside

13. You've listened to little girls around you sing the band's songs... all of them

Your ears have bled a little bit, too.

14. You've tried to befriend the security guard

But he won't let you backstage, and he doesn't have any inside info, either. Oh...and no, he will not be your friend.

15. What's this?! The doors are open?!

As expected, everyone rushes in like cattle.

16. Time to check out the merch table...

And dig your way out of the angry fangirl mob.

17. Walking to your seat, you're so excited you could throw up

18. Must. document. seat. location. from. every. angle.

Pics or it didn't happen, right?

19. The opening band is on, and, well, they're not who you came for

But they're alright, I guess.

20. Finally the time has arrived. The house lights dim and the music starts to play

Hell. Yeah.

21. The next hour and a half goes by like this

22. Tears. So many tears

23. NOT THE HAIR FLIP

24. Arms. Arms. Arms.

Bless.

25. *Internally and externally screams*

26. They play their last song...

...Or so they say

27. We all know there's an encore

28. And just like that, it's over

29. Until next time, you'll just have their photos and your memories to get you through this post-concert depression

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
