College is busy. Life is busy. And when you combine the two, you get one seriously stressed out college kid. Restless days, busy nights, overthinking, stress-induced headaches, and caffeine addiction are all just side effects of a college student's life, and here are 27 random thoughts that fly through our brains constantly... (That is, if we have the time.)

1. Is it too late to take my parents up on the offer to be their little kid forever?

2. Adulting is hard — why did I do this to myself?

3. Can I really afford this special coffee?

4. What am I saying? Of course, I can.

5. Groceries are expensive.

6. Do I really need to study for this test?

7. Are tests really logical or just something the professors like to torture us with?

8. When is National Coffee Day again?

9. I can sleep for thirty more minutes.

10. Being late to class is fine. Everything's fine.

11. I really need to do my laundry.

12. I also really need to go and get gas.

13. Are you sure that's when the paper is due?

14. I'm pretty sure my life is over.

15. Man, didn't I just get groceries?

16. Ooh, free coffee!

17. Netflix has ruined my life in the best way possible.

18. Do I check my bank account or do I not and hope for the best?

19. Really, Professor McRich? A $200 textbook?

20. When's our next break?

21. Why yes, this is my fourth cup of coffee.

22. Frick, my car needs gas again.

23. I should start working out.

24. Shoot, I slept through my alarms. Guess I'm not going to class today.

25. Three tests, one paper, and two quizzes in one week... Are you serious?

26. What time does the library close?

27. Another day, another pot of coffee.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
