My first job has been my only job for three years. While working, I’ve met many great people, employees and customers. I’ve also learned a lot that wasn’t in my job description. I’m sure many of you can relate to the things I learned while working.

1. Some people will like you, others won’t

2. You can’t please everyone

3. You can’t trust everyone

4. You can say no

5. If someone covers your shift, you should return the favor

6. You will have good and bad bosses

7. You will work with some great people

8. You will work with some not-so-great people

9. You will put up with those you dislike

10. You should communicate to fix problems

11. People make mistakes

12. People learn from mistakes

13. Some people don’t learn from mistakes

14. You have to be patient with others

15. You don’t know what another person is dealing with

16. Customers are not always right

17. You’re not always right

18. Customers will argue with you

19. Don’t be afraid to correct someone

20. Two heads can be much better than one

21. You need to take breaks

22. Don’t take everything too seriously

23. Have fun

24. Everyone lives different lives

25. Be nice regardless of the situation
