On the banks of the Red Cedar lies the greatest university that is home to thousands of students, fans, and alumni, each of which can relate to the feelings of joy that arises in their heart when they step on campus. No matter who you ask, everyone and anyone who attended this university knows that there's truly something special about being a Spartan. Here are just a few of the many things that make Michigan State University students smile.

1. Seeing the Red Cedar frozen over in the winter and the trees dusted in snow.

2. After a long, brutally cold winter, finally seeing the sun shine over the thawed Red Cedar River.

3. Two words: Football season.

Early morning wake-ups for noon games, tailgating, repping the green and white, what could be better?

4. Having professors that are willing to go the extra mile to help you succeed.

5. Watching the Spartans play.

Win or lose, we'll always be proud to support our teams.

6. Seeing Coach Dantonio smile.

7. Moving back to East Lansing after long summer away from the greatest college town on earth.

8. Hearing the bells of Beaumont Tower ringing while walking to class.

9. Seeing Sparty participating in his usual crazy shenanigans around campus.

Whether it be working out at IM west or driving a golf cart around campus, nothing makes us chuckle like seeing our crazy mascot around campus.

10. Free parking on Sundays.

11. Watching coach Izzo get his team hyped up for another game.

12. When the weather gets warm and you can finally break out the darty apparel, hammocks, and frisbees for a day spent out in the sunshine.

13. When there's an open seat on a bust CATA bus.

14. Feeding the ducks along the Red Cedar.

15. When your favorite cafeteria has a delicious dinner planned.

16. When your CATA driver tells you "have a good day!"

17. Watching crazy kayakers attempt to make it down the Red Cedar.

18. When you get the email that class is cancelled.

19. Finding an open study room at the main lib during finals week.

20. Feeding (or attempting to) the friendly, fat squirrels.

21. Finding a prime parking spot that doesn't require you to walk an extra 10 minutes to class.

22. Seeing the giant stuffed giraffe on some guys' shoulders while walking to class.

23. Watching the sun rise over Beaumont tower.

24. When IM West isn't overly packed with meathead frat boys.

25. Feeling inspired every time you walk past the Spartan State.

26. The friendships that you've made that you know will last a lifetime.

27. The bond that all Spartan fans share.

Whether it be our insane love for our campus, or the fact that we bleed green and white, there's something special about being a Spartan that's unlike any other school in the world.
