As fall semester at The University of Maine, Orono is approaching there are quite a few things I've been itchin' to do since I left in the Spring. While we are, unfortunately, located in the middle of nowhere in Maine; where most people wonder why the hell someone would send up North. There are many things that are close to my heart up there. Without further ado, here are 26 things I can't wait to do as soon as I get to school.

1. Move into my apartment.

2. Order OHOP.

3. Bang a right and pull a U-Turn in the apartment complex across campus when the left turning lane is backed up to Orono PD.

4. People watch in the mall.

5. Go to football games; that's what fall semester is all about.

6. Continue to call "The Reserve" The Grove.

7. Tip Whip because we all know it's better than Uber in Orono.

8. Pregame the pregame.

9. Tailgate.

10. Union food... Enough said.

11. Spend $10 on a sandwich at Harvest Moon every other freakin' day.

12. Become better at the "Mainah" accent.

13. Wait an hour for the hockey games.

14. Alway chant "F*ck UNH", even though we all know UNH does not chant "F*ck UMAINE"...

15. Sing along with the band songs at games.

16. Study in Fogler...

17. Go to awkward but poppin' house parties. "Hello, hi, I don't know you... But I'm here."

18. Definitely can't wait to make more than a few trips to The Bear Brew.

19. Spend too much time in Thriftway.

20. Let's not forget hanging with Bananas.

21. Darty.

22. Be back with the best friends that I've made.

23. Oh, I forgot to mention 2-for-1 OHOP, you better believe I do that often.

24. Get coffee and muffins from The Nest.

25. Head over to Bangor and people watch at Walmart.

26. Constantly giving myself reasons as to why The University of Maine has my heart.

I'm sure there are a hundred other things people can't wait to do, but these are my top. And if we're looking forward, I'm very excited for Maine Day. Who isn't?

Oh, but I'm not looking forward to parking.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
