Clichés may be cheesy and overused, but some are scarily applicable to every day life. So, in honor of clichés, here are a few of the ones I've learned in the past 20 years.
- Time heals.
- When in doubt, call your mom.
- You are worth everything now.
- Your walls can be destroyed, no matter how long it took to build them.
- Trees can grow through rocks.
- The sun will always rise, and it will always be beautiful.
- Somebody does love you.
- There is always a reason to celebrate.
- Your speed doesn't matter, forward is forward.
- It's not what you say, but how you say it.
- A closed door is not the end of the hallway.
- If a man is not kind to his mother, he will not be kind to you.
- Go with your gut.
- Even the sky cries sometimes.
- Always following the rules makes for a boring life.
- Actions speak louder than words.
- People will treat you how they feel themselves.
- Never miss a chance to dance.
- Do not pick up what you've already laid down.
- If you can't change it, change your attitude.
- Everything is either a blessing or a blessing in disguise.
- Your past does not define you.
- Life is what you make it.
- We are all teachers.
- Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is.
- Do it anyway.
“Clichés can be quite fun. That's how they got to be clichés.” - Alan Bennett
