With a new semester starting, it's hard to feel like I'll ever be happy so to help with that, I've decided to make a list of 25 different things that make me happy.

1. Dogs

Can you even be around a dog and not be happy? It's impossible. If you ever need a pick-me-up, find the nearest dog and let it love you.

2. My dog

Not to brag, but my dog is the best dog. Whenever I come home, it's like we haven't seen each other in years and it's the best.

3. Pizza

Pizza is my favorite food and I can not be in a bad mood when I'm eating it.

4. My tan flats

Yes, they are starting to wear down but when I wake up late, I don't have to tie them. I can slip them on and go.

5. Throwback playlists

It's nice to listen to songs I used to jam out to in middle school when times were simpler. My favorites are "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney, "Dirty Little Secret" by The All-American Rejects, and "Closer To The Edge" by Thirty Seconds to Mars.

6. Road trips

The best ones are ones without a destination and great playlists.

7. Laptop Stickers

I have a glass of lemonade, a golden retriever, a sunflower, Jesus, "I'm fine. It's Fine. Everything is fine.", "It is well with my soul" inside a ring of flowers, and "breathe" on my laptop and I love them.

8. Jesus

I don't think I need to explain this one because if you've ever experienced His love, you know.

9. Pens

The really good ones that you never buy but always seem to find,

10. Poems

Ther's a lot of emotion in just a few lines that always seem to steal my heart.

11. Writing

Writing is the one thing I can do that helps me escape the real world. Writing is something that I can do when I need a break.

12. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

I had to read this book in my 11th-grade history class and it's easily my favorite. The main character doesn't let himself be defined by how he is supposed to be.

13. The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

This was my favorite book for years and is still my favorite movie. Logan Lerman and Emma Waston are my favorite.

14. Chicken nuggets

These are a college students staple.

15. Memes

Memes are a great way to waste time when I should be studying.

16. Lemonade

Chick-Fil-A's lemonade is hands down my favorite thing ever.

17. Christmas

Anyone who knows me knows that I start to wear my Christmas socks in September and listen to Michael Bublé in July. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I wait all year for it.

18. Floral

Anything with flowers automatically makes it 10 times better.

19. Peppermint Mochas

Christmas in a cup. Need I say more?

20. Hot Chocolate

Whenever I have a bad day, just making a cup makes me feel so much better.

21. Adventures

I consider a trip to the store an adventure and it's even better with people I like to adventure with.

22. Nicholas Sparks Books/Movies

They all make me cry but they also make me feel all warm inside.

23. Cardigans

My mom often calls my favorite one a grandma one but it's like my tan flats and it goes with everything.

24. The beach

Something about the ocean makes all my worries and anxiety go away.

25. Disney movies

I'd be lying if I said I didn't sing all the songs at the top of my lungs.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
