Growing up in Las Vegas: it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. While everyone else in the world dreamed of vacationing there for Spring Break or their 21st birthdays, we all anxiously awaited the day we could escape to a place where actual plants grew. Sure, every city has its share of distinct traits, but there is nothing like growing up in Sin City.

1. Everyone outside of Vegas thinks you live on the strip.

No.

2. There is nothing in Vegas for kids to do except go to the movies or go bowling.

3. You had to go to a casino to see a movie or go bowling.

4. The city erupts in chaos whenever it rains.

5. The roads are constantly under construction.

And they always will be.

6. Visiting other cities is hard because fast food restaurants aren't open 24/7.

The struggle is real.

7. You have taken a road trip to St. George to get Chick-Fil-A.

8. The smell of cigarettes and booze doesn't bother you.

9. You were most likely hit on by drunk tourists.

10. You grew up with Mojave Max.

11. Vegas has the most beautiful sunrises/sunsets.

12. An 80 degree day is considered nice weather.

13. You never had school on Halloween because it's also Nevada day.

14. The Meadows Mall was your hangout spot in middle school.

15. You probably had a birthday party at the Adventuredome.

16. And the Mini Grand Prix.

17. And Crystal Palace.

18. You know the Glen Learner jingle by heart.

Call 877-1500.

19. The Hot Mess Express that is CCSD.

20. You have never paid to park.

21. You know someone that has baked cookies on the hood of their car during the summer.

22. You remember the great snow day of 2007.

We got like, a whole inch.

23. Having an excessive amount of casino pens.

24. You took a field trip to the Shark Reef.

25. It's pronounced Ne-VA-duh, not Ne-VAH-duh.

Trust us on this one. You will have a mob of angry locals to deal with should you make this fatal mistake.
