With finals quickly approaching, most stress levels are reaching new highs. It's almost impossible to walk across campus without hearing whispers of complaints about finals, term papers and presentations. Making a quick list of some things that make us happy is sometimes the best form of therapy in such stressful times, especially if most of the things on it are tangible and achievable. So if you're having an off day, here are a few things that can hopefully put a smile on your face.
1. Popcorn
Because when are you not in the mood for some buttery goodness?
2. Snorting when you laugh
Sure, it may be a bit embarrassing, but everyone sure does get a kick out of it.
3. Friends
They're the ones to pick you up when your down, but also the ones who probably laughed and pushed you in the first place. They always know what to say to put a smile on your face, but most importantly, they never say no for a food run.
4. Family
Always there, always on your side.
5. Puppies
I dare you to find something cuter.
6. Freshly painted fingernails
You could have on sweats and a sweatshirt, but a fresh manicure and you feel like you can take over the world.
7. Jeans right out of the dryer
Jumping into those jeans is one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment ever.
8. Clean sheets
There is just something about clean sheets, am I right?
9. Cold cheese pizza
Shout out to my fellow Long Islanders.
10. Hugs from mom
Even on your worst day, all it takes is a little love from Mom to make it better.
11. Laughing until you cry
Which usually makes everyone else in the room laugh too.
12. Taking a really good nap
Waking up feeling like a new person and ready to take on the day is a feeling like no other.
13. Putting together the perfect outfit
After raiding everyone's closet, its hard not to look as good as you.
14. Being spontaneous
Put yourself out there, try new things, you'd be surprised.
15. Traveling to new places
It could be a day trip, a long weekend, or even a whole week. Start small, then go big; there are so many places you have yet to see and explore.
16. Having things to look forward to
Why stress about what you coulda, shoulda, woulda, done, when you should focus on what you can and will do?
17. Candles
The key to stress relief... trust me.
18. Fresh towels
Almost more refreshing than the shower.
19. Getting a good grade
There is absolutely nothing better than knowing all those long hours in the library and endless amounts of coffee paid off.
20. Doing something for someone else
It could be something as small as holding the door for another.
21. Eating ice cream
A hefty bowl of your favorite flavor and you're in for a good night.
22. Making plans with your friends
Que the thousands of group messages and phone calls.
23. Actually following through with those plans
Cause Lord knows that's a miracle and a half.
24. Your favorite song
You know, the one you play on repeat until your roommate goes absolutely crazy.
25. Taking a long shower (while listening to your favorite song)
Sing it loud and proud, girl!
