1.“Everything stinks till it’s finished.”

Honestly, the semester will go by quicker than you think… and when it’s over, it will all be worth it.

2.“It’s opener there, in the wide open air.”

Take a break and go for a walk to clear your mind! Don’t spend too long studying for those big tests all at one time, split it up and go get some fresh air!

3.“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”

Seriously… read that chapter that was assigned today. Stop skimming them… that stuff is definitely going to be fair game for the final.

4.“Only you can control your future.”

Mom and Dad aren’t there to tell you what to do every minute. So come on guys, take it seriously this semester and try your best.

5.“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”

That problem from your homework isn’t as hard as your making it seem. Take a deep breath and stop overanalyzing.

6.“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.”

You can do this! Stay focused and as my mom would say, “make good choices!”

7.“Today I shall behave, as if this is the day I will be remembered.”

Take risks, do what makes you happy, and treat others well, because each day in college is another step toward your future.

8.“From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.”

Seriously, look around you next time you’re at the dining hall. Funny things are EVERYWHERE.

9.“You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.”

You’re in charge of your future now, so do your best and have fun figuring out who you are!

10.“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better, it’s not.”

You better start caring about that GPA… because it’s not getting better on its own!

11.“Think and wonder. Wonder and think.”

Hmmm… when was that essay due?

12.“Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.”

Get a good night’s sleep because you’re about to do it all over again tomorrow.

13.“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”

I know you don’t even understand the assignment, but if you try hard enough, you could definitely make something up.

14."If things start happening, don't worry, don't stew, just go right along and you'll start happening too."

Bad days are going to happen. Don’t worry and make a huge fuss over them. Push through the rough days and things will start looking up!

15.“And will you succeed? Yes indeed, yes indeed! Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed!"

That 2 and a quarter was left out in case you decide to stop doing your homework mid semester or oversleep and miss your most important final. Once again, I’m going to give you some advice from my momma, “make good choices!”

16."I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"

Don’t let your school troubles get you down. Kick the crap out of those troubles and give em’ hell next time!

17."Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Speak your mind and say what you feel. Your real friends will support you. If they don’t… are they really your friends?

18."In my world, everyone's a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies!"

What you do on your own time is your business man, not mine.

19."You're in pretty good shape for the shape you are in."

Stress eating is a real thing. I feel for you.

20."You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room."

Your dorm room isn’t just a place to binge watch all 10 seasons of Friends and eat a whole jar of Nutella in one sitting. STUDY!

21."You'll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut."

Naps are great. But wake up and do something this semester! Join a club, attend a fundraiser, or go see a movie with friends… get involved!

22.“Step with care and great tact and remember that life's a great balancing act.”

The balance between work and fun can be tough. Work as hard as you can, but don’t forget to take breaks and relax too.

23.“And when you're in a slump, you're not in for much fun. Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.”

Stay on top of things! When we get behind, it’s hard to get back out of that slump. You can do it!

24.“But on you will go though the weather be foul. On you will go though your enemies prowl.”

You’ll get through it. This semester might feel like it’s dragging on and you might run into some problems along the way, but you’ll push through it and you’ll be proud of yourself in the end.

25.“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?”

Seriously, this semester will be over before you know it. Chill out.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
